With a career spanning over two decades, Josh is a seasoned track and cross-country coach with a proven track record of success across multiple high school and collegiate programs. Under Coach Maxwell’s collaboration, the Waukee High School Boys Track team became Class 4A State Champions in 2014 and 2015, and also earned three additional top-5 finishes at the state meet. He also led the Waukee High School Boys Cross Country teams to ten state meet appearances.

Josh has coached state title winners in the 100, 200, 400H, 800, 4x400, and 4x800. He also led three Drake Relays Champion teams in the 4x400. Ten of his 4x800 relay teams were named Elite All-State Performers and 1 of his 4x400 relay teams earned All-American status.

A six-time letter winner in Cross Country & Track and a former team captain of Drake University’s Cross Country team. Josh has been named the Class 4A Regional Cross Country Coach of the Year twice in his career as well as being a two-time inductee into the Calamus-Wheatland High School Hall of Fame.
